Bluish- white smoke

My wife was following me home the other day and she said when i start to go (give it gas) there si a cloud of smoke that come from my muffler. I know that i have a oil leak externally but this leading me towards a internal leak. maybe the head gasket. I been looking around online( well just ebay) and i can get a head gasket from about 45 bucks and a seal kit for about 98 bucks. I am trying to see if this will fix my problem. I have did a search and i see that the preludes do smoke some but I dont think they change smoke( smoke a lot)

Also i was planning to change out the engine for another h23a1 with less miles on it so i dont know if it is worh it. There is nothing wrong wwith the engine i have now other than the smoking thing. I have not did a compression test yet. If i get the head gasket set which includes all internal seals, should i just keep the engine?

I would do a compression test before chaning your headgasket... it could eliminate that possibility...

blue smoke = oil

white smoke = water

actually white smoke would be coolant... since water won't create smoke.
