Okay, first i noticed that after driving around for a few minutes, i blow white smoke out of my exhaust upon acceleration. Then when i turn off the motor, smoke is billowing from under my car, from the headers and down pipe. I did this at night and noticed that the headers were glowing orange they were so effin hot. I took the headers off and turned on the motor and next thing i know, blue flames are shooting out of my exhaust ports. Any one ever heard of this?
wait, just checkin, you took your header COMPLETELY off and started the engine? just sayin but very dumb thing to do. VERY ****ing dumb

chill dude, it was only for a minute. Okay just so long as that was a normal thing. I thought my timing was off and the combustion flames were blowing too soon or too late. Thanks for the help guys

yea and thats the last thing I need. Well everybody and their mamma is telling me that im burning water cuz of the white smoke. I took all my motor apart looking for the source. The head is on my kitchen table and I've inspected it, I even took the valves out. I searched and searched for cracks on my block inside and out and none. Head gasket is not busted. Days later you can still see coolant in the block (where its supposed to be) and it hasn't drained from the block at all. Would a water pump be the source?
well when you did the headgasket 1. was the old gasket fully cleaned off the head and the block?.. 2. did you get new head bolts? 3. did you tighten them in the right order and to torque spec.? etc etc .....
1. Yes 2. No 3. Yes, used Helms. I checked the head bolts before I put them in and they weren't warped or anything. This is the 2nd time I've taken apart engine since I built it. After the first time I took the head off and changed the head gasket (again), it was still smoking white (not at idle, after I take it out for a drive and gun it) and when i parked it I had hella smoke coming from the engine bay and seemed to emanate from my headers and downpipe. I let the car idle and the smoke seemed to go away after a while. I just know its something stupid and I'm gonna be pissed when I find out what it is.
kimara and red92si were the closest. I had my head on the kitchen table and looked at the head gasket to see wtf was the deal. Turns out I had put my gasket on backwards like a dumbass. Backwards meaning the metal tab was sticking out on the right side instead of the left side. Im ****ing pissed. Well, going to order a new head gasket and will let you know if it fixes the problem. Thanks for all the input.
