Big list of problems and ultimate question.
Hey guys, I've kind of been lurking on this board for some time now and I'm finally at my wits end for my car. Its a 93 Si Auto with about 170,000 miles, which has gotten into a minor wreck (still drives and operates fine). First I'd like to list all of the problems I have with it, then based on this information, I'd like your guys' opinion on wether or not I should fix everything and keep it, fix everything and sell it, or just sell it as is. Oh I'll also have pics up tomorrow so you can see the horror.
First of all, BODY WORK... this car needs quite a bit as you will see in the photos. From the way it was wrecked (sideswiped a tree), the front passenger wheel was sent high into the wheelwell where i fear it also tweaked the frame a tad, or bent the front radiator support or whatever. The passenger headlight has a very slight tilt, along with the passenger side of the bumper. Also, the space between the fenders where the hood sits seems narrower and the hood doesnt shut quite as easily as it once did, causing the hood to rub on the inner part of the fenders. Along with the typical dings and scratches and whatnot are a pair of JDM fenders which I bought from passwordjdm.com that just so happen to be the complete opposite color of my car. Then theres the rust. My god the rust. It started above the drivers side rear quarter panel and now has eaten away a good chunk of it along the bottom of the rear wheelwell, and has also began to show up in the sunroof and the passenger rear quarter panel.
Then, SUSPENSION, ENGINE, BRAKES, ETC... Obviously from the way I wrecked the car, it needed alot of suspension work. I replaced everything that was bent or broken except the shocks and springs which were still good. After all was said and done, I got an allignment and for the most part it drives straight as an arrow (except when braking hard or going at very high speeds.) I believe I also may have done something to the brakes during the wreck, because I have a very slow leak in fluid, and I have to put some in about once every 1 to 2 months. Ive been driving the car for over a year since the wreck and havent had a problem with braking so its probably just a line or something leaking. Everytime I make a turn I hear a knocking which I believe is my CV boots that busted (again, during the wreck). The engine itself works fine, although I do get a CEL once the car is fully warmed up and is being driven (it wont come on if I just sit there and let the car warm up). I've had that CEL since I bought the car and just never got around to getting it looked at. Oh, the ABS light has also always come on. Theres also a crappy intake and muffler on it which the previous owner installed quite craptastically.
As for good things about the car, It runs very well, the interior is very clean except for some fading in the speaker covers, and it has a 10 disc Sony headunit and CD changer. I also installed a pair of chrome jdm one peices.
Thanks for your time and help guys.
