Best way to clean my K&N Cone filter?

First off, whats the best and easiest way to get to it. Secondly how should I clean it.... its been a looooong while.

I have an AEM CAI.

buy a K&N cleaning kit and follow the instruction that comes w/ it

I cleaned mine about a month ago for the first time, and wow... it was really dirty. I have had it for about 3 years, so yeah. Cleaning is really easy... as vile10 said, just buy the cleaning kit from any auto-parts store and follow the instructions.

when i have short ram, i had to clean it everytime i changed oil, now i have CAI, does anyone knows if it'll get dirty easier or not?

why do you clean it that often. once or twice a year is fine. it doesnt take much dirt to change the color of it a little bit but its in no way near needing to be cleaned.

hehe i would say clean it every 6month to a year. but i have it down to a science to get out my filter, just cause i make it easy to get access to my CAI

don't know why but my filter gets dirty really easy, i clean it because it needs to be cleaned, not because i want to clean it
