best oil filter for 94 vtec?

Hi folks,

I was wondering what people recommend for oil filters? I currently use the Blue OEM one's (can't remember model name), but wanted to know what others would recommend?

So I usually get the following: 15400-PR3-004 FILTER, OIL (TOYO ROKI) which are OEM, but had heard good things about NAPA Gold as well.

15400-PLM-A01 is good, made by Filtech, identical to the S2K filter except not as big around so it can fit on other Honda's. Just don't get the 15400-PLM-A02 which is a ****ty fram filter, we have both cut open in parts at the dealer I work at to show the difference.

I use Honda OEM filters. I would just stick with the Honda ones you already use.

^Thing is that you can get 2 different ones at the dealer and unless you say otherwise you're gonna get this cheap fram filter.

I don't what what you are talking about lol? My OEM filters are 15400-PT7-005 for the allied signal which DOES make fram filters and 15400-PR3-004 for the Toyo one. I have used both. My engine is really clean..While there are internal differences.. It doesn't make a huge difference IMO. As long as its a honda OEM supplied part I am good with it.

EDIT: I was just looking at hondapartsnow.com... you can't even get the toyo one anymore its been "replaced" by 15400-PT7-005...

How are you still getting that filter? It was discontinued a while back, it's the big one that looks like the PCX filter for the S2K right? I was referring to the 2 that are currently being made available at most dealers.

The filter I get is a standard size filter not the larger diameter S2000 one. I order my parts from hondapartsnow.com...guess they have their part numbers messed up haha.

Well either way the Filtech filter is really good as is the larger one for the S2K which is also Filtech. Last I had my valve cover off it looked like the head had been to a machine shop when it has never been removed from the block.

I actually use Mobil 1 motor oil from the day I got the car as well and think it does a great job. But in the past have used oem filters and wanted to get an idea what others use as their filter...

Btw where do you folks buy your filters? Is there a place that sell good quality for relatively cheap?

K&N/Mobil1 (made by same person) are overpriced, the Honda/Filtech one I gave the part # for earlier in the thread has the same design and construction for much less money.
