best Hi flow cat.

Hey I was wondering what you guys think about a Focus Hi-Flow cat for my 93 VTEC. I would get the more expensive ones but I think its all the same. So input on the subject would be great. Thanks.

Well, if you think they're all the same, go for it. I'd think Random Tech. has the best hi-flows, but that's just because they're a big name. If you get it, let me know how you like it.

You could do a search. There are A LOT of threads on this topic. I'm sure you could find something on this particular cat.

Does ANYBODY have dyno charts for ANY gains on these things??? Everybody talks and asks about them, but nobody seems to have any proof that they help at ALL.

I honestly don't think they're worth the money.

race cats suck! thats all there is to it. you have to have restriction in the exhaust system inorder to have healthy low-end torque. super free flowing exhaust is great at really high rpms but sh!tty in the low rpms. basically, you want restriction in the low rpms, and no restriction in the high rpms. and i have just the product for you! hehe. i had my cat taken out when i got my 5Zigen exhaust. instead of a "test pipe" or "race cat", i opted to have a 'turbo tube muffler' installed. its a 12" weld on peice that by design provides exhaust restriction in low rpms but flows more air than a cat when the rpms are bumped up. it is directly welded to my header and to my exhaust system with no bolt on flanges. on my last car, i got an exhaust system and immediately noticed that i had lost low end power. on the prelude, with this exhaust set up, i only noticed more power.

Do you have dyno numbers to prove this claim that keeps the undereducated masses into buying these "high-performance" cats??? Otherwise, you perpetuate this waste of money.
