***Battery light fades on and off at high rev

1992 Honda Prelude
F22b
Manual Tran.

Situation:
'SOMETIMES' when my vehicle is in high rpm (ie, around 3500-4000 rpm...usually when im in 5th gear on the highway) the battery light on the gauge would slowly fade on and and then slowly fade off at random times when driving. If i decelerate the battery light would fade away. If i were to accelerate again at that certain rpm, the light would fade on.

??????
ANY ANSWERS....OR QUESTIONS!!!???

-Battery holds a good charge
-NEW ALTERNATOR (changed earlier this yr)
-NEW ALTERNATOR BELT (changed last week because I thought the belt was slipping)

Mine did this for a while... I pulled the connector on the alternator (not the wire that goes to the battery) and cleaned the contacts on the connector as well as the contacts on the alternator. That took care of it. The connector and contacts on the alternator side had quite a bit of corrosion on em

@G_Loc : I took ur advice n checked the connectors on the alternator for corrosion and found none. I reinstalled the connections and drove it the next day and it seems that it didnt help.

In fact, NOW the battery light actually comes on and off through out ALL gears (1-5) from a stop in first gear through each gear thereafter. My first post said that this only happens in 4th and 5th gear near high rev....but now its every gear!

I also noticed that when i am on the highway (situations when the car is goin 80+ mph), the speedometer (it doesnt work at the time because of a faulty speed sensor) would randomly flicker around rapidly from 20 mph to 60 to 80 back down to 60 then back to 0 then so on and so forth! Any ideas?

Im really confused with this situation! I can safely drive from here to there but it bothers me to see this light constantly flickering on and off!

Anybody have any ideas? Short?

Any suggestions/ questions/ and answers are much appreciated! Thank those who reply in advance!

There's only one solution, I'll buy the car for $20 and then fix it and post how I fixed it.

If you check the voltage at the battery when the car is off and when it's running and it checks out ok, have the alternator tested. It could be a ground or a billion other things. It may not be anything.

Did you check the condition of the neg (-) terminal on the battery? The terminal-> battery part could be corroded...

Like I said, it may be something as simple as not worrying about it, but I understand your concern 100%

Haha! I'll sale it to you for $15!

The voltage of the battery is good.
The alternator is brand new.

The two battery terminals have been collecting a lot of corrosion lately. However, I have cleaned it recently. Should I put terminal grease/vaseline on the terminals?

I don't use any said grease/lube and haven't had problems. I did take my dremel (or other rotary tool) and sanded down the inside of the terminals to make sure it was clean. Make sure they are clean and tight (shouldn't be able to wiggle them around), if you can wiggle them around, fix it with a pair of pliers

ok. The terminal connectors are clean and tightly screwed on.
From the eye can see...there is no visible corrosion. I do not have a dremel but I have used sand paper previously.
