Bad tranny or good upgrade?

I just got my 92 SI...it has the auto tranny....while driving it shifts really hard into gears...at first i thought i might have to get the tranny rebuilt....when i gun the car i cherp every gear...i took my friend for a ride...he also has a prelude...while driving i should him what i was talking about...he said that it doest seem like i have a bad tranny, rather i have either a ecu upgrade or maybe throttle body work done...by car shifts at 6,400 when i punch the pedal down...is this a bad tranny or does my car have work done to it i dont know of...and if so how can i find out...i also have intake and exhaust done so its not totally stock...thanks

ive got an auto/si with an intake, and mine is about the same, with the stock wheels and tires i chirp into second easily, and thranny does shift kinda hard, and mine also shifts at redline if i keep it at wot. maybe its just that everyones told you that "the automatic is soooo much slowr" like everyone has told me, and its really not the case...
