Bad IAC valve leads to bad alternator/battery..?
How's it going
I got a '96 lude SOHC and I've been having idling problems. I replaced the IAC with another used IAC valve and it ****ED it up. The idling that was going up and down up and down got even worse and then my car starting just shutting off while I was driving. I'd be cruising at 80 mph and I'd have to put it in neutral and restart it while moving.
Anyways we put the old IAC valve back in, my mechanic adjusted the round cylinder "thing" next to it- he said the idling problem was because this and the IAC valve were working against each other. He's my mechanic down in mexico and tho I'm fluent I can't speak car spanish so I can't tell you the name of the part. Anyways.. the idling is WAY better, but the car still shuts off from time to time while I'm driving.
** I had a realization that maybe the ****ty IAC valve I put in put a lot of wear and tear on the battery and/or the alternator and so the car shutting off is actually one of them- not the IAC valve.
What do you guys think?
Cheers
