There are a lot of honda engines, why do you assume that its an h23 valve cover just because it isnt a f22b valve cover? the logical conclusion would be that it is neither an f22 nor an h23.

Did you read this thread at all? All the info was stated a few times. H23 vtec is from a a type of accord sold in japan. The H23 sold in our preludes has the engine code H23A1. JDM engines do not have the number at the end of the engine code.
but with a smaller bore and stroke, I'm assuming it produces less horsepower and torque, unless of course it has higher compressiong piston. Given though, that (hypothetically) the pistons are the same, I would then say the H23 is better, BECAUSE it has a larger bore x stroke.
