Auto tranny question

I have a F22 auto, the transmission is starting to slip, looking at a cheap H23 auto tranny right now. Wondering if it is a direct replacement or not?

Should be. I know nothing about the torque converters, but the transmission itself should bolt right up.

Yeah it should be fine, I have a F22 Auto as well, and I put a JDM H22a Auto Trans on there and it works like a charm so you should be good too

Alright. So we got the new tranny one. We have a problem though, when driving it seems to shift ok, the 1-2 shift is kind of hard, I filled the torque converter with fluid and the tranny is full too. When driving the engine will start to bog down, all sensors look to be connected and no vacuum leaks. Anyone have any ideas?

umm, i noticed the same thing with the F22 H22auto trans, it took a while, i put more fluid in, and then i got a flush and fill, it always seems to shift a lil harder, i'm assuming from the diff in HP...however it hasn't been a problem for me...

Knock on wood

So you just kept adding fluid? It's been a couple days, we've been driving it around, just close to home just in case, but I haven't noticed the fluid level drop yet. I'll have to keep checking.

The weird problem is the bogging, if it just shifted hard that'd be fine, but it bogs before going into gear every now and then. Hoping the converter is just low and it will take a while for more fluid to transfer over to it.

yeah, i kept adding fluid, it takes more and more as time goes on, just yesterday i added a lil more and it's been a few months, just you can tell it needs a lil and lil more, i've had it inspected for leaks and they couldn't find any
