Who cares what other people think about having an automatic. There's no rule to say that a car has to be a 5 speed or else it isn't a real sports car. All that matters is what you think. I'm happy with my auto, I do a lot of city driving so there's no point in having a 5 speed if all I do is stop and go traffic.

Peace

I have had my car for about 2 years now and its an auto. It is the worst choice I have made in my life.

When I was looking for a car, I had been looking at accords. I was sure that was what I wanted. I mean I love sports cars and all, but accords are so easy to find and fun to mod. Anyways, one day my mom comes home and starts telling me about her friend who is selling this prelude etc. It really sounded too good to be true, because a prelude was one of the cars I had lusted over for years, but never thought I could own one. So I went and looked at it and fell in love...well execpt for the tranny. You see, I have owned 3 cars previous to this, all stick. And I was sure I wanted a stick in my next car, but it seemed like too good of a deal to pass up, so I bought it.

It was convient for about 6 months and then I wanted to kill myself. Its just not fun to drive at all. And I feel helpless to modify it, because its a 16 second car. The cost just to get it up to speed with stock 4th gens would be rediculious. So I just have to live with what I've got unfortunatly, for the time being.

It really is a good car, its in perfect shape and my dream car in every respect except for the tranny. The hardest part is knowing that if it was a stick, I would have no problem keeping it indefinatly, its so damn fun to drive in the canyons. But I just cant go on like this, so in a few months, I will either be looking to replace it with a 5th gen, or keep it and park a '78-'85 911 in the garage next to it. Still working on which would be better overall. Anyways, sorry for the rant, just wanted to let you know how I feel about it

Auto VS. Manual discussion again. Well, my take is...both have their pros and cons...but honestly...if you want performance and speed...it's all about MT....as much as you fix up an AT...it will not hang with an MT. There are exceptions...but rarely. So if you like crusing and your car is a city driver. Stick with AT. It's great for multitasking...(i.e. talking on the cell, smoking, holding your girl's hand , etc) BUT if you looking for performance and want to race (on occasions), MT all the way.

as soon as the car is paid off... swapin in a h22, and u know what that comes with....

there is one extrememly good thing about automatics....

it probably hasnt been beat to death

i bought my 92 from an older female driver... like i said in another post... last march with only 61000 miles on it. i know the car was babied and taken very good care of. all the ludes with 5 speeds i looked at and test drove were owned by young males, and u know that they have used that 5 speed for what it was meant for.

so a motor with a 5 speed will probably be more tired out over an automatic. especially if a lot of shifting at red line.

i love my auto, but when i get a new car.. this is me buyin a new car, i will get a MT, but till then i am goin to mod the fux out of my car... who cares if it is an auto.. and when u race ppl on the street, can we say tat close 7/10 of the ppl can't drive, or shift worth **** cause they don't race alot... don't get me wrong most ppl can drag race, but i have heard ppl that can't race worth ****, and wif an auto all u have to learn is step on gas... hehe, and if u still hate an auto, i would like to point out that my frien has a 12 sec auto twin turbo supra. and he has beaten a MT supra wif more mods then him. and if u go turbo, the auto is better from wat i hear, so don't let those ppl diss u and talk u down, sure if u can drive a car wif MT it will be faster then a auto, but i have yet to see some good drivers

i'm beginning to like my auto everyday...i'm gonna build up the auto transmission and we'll see...i like my auto...craig paisley 8 sec supra is auto...and the only MT supra is from bullish thats hitting only 9secs...so more power to auto...and alot of people cant drive for sh*t anyways...its pretty funny beating people in the street with a MT...i have more right to brag about it and make fun of them...and put it this way...your time will be pretty damn consistent eventhough its not as good as MT...hehehehe...

Auto Trans.

Guys either I have a factory defect or something, but my 95si H23 w/auto is sick. I only have a Tenzo intake and Powercore exhaust and it chirps in second gear. I raced my buudy who has a 96 vtec stick and I beat him by 2 or 3 car lengths. He has an intake and exhaust too. I don't understand it. I smoke Civic Si's too. Maybe I'm just lucky, but my auto is one mean little *****.

Thanks for listening to me

true that, it always fun cause when u tell them it an auto and non-vtec they are to dumb to know that lude will take almost all cars off the lines, espically them lil civic si, *100 torque(i'm estimated i don't know the real number) hehe and then to lose to a non-vtec cause they always mouthin that vtec will beat any car haha.... so funny plus bone stock si can beat a any car, maybe not a civic si, that got less then 2k of engine work IMO
