from auto to manual...whose done it??? =P

how much work is involved in the swap. i got some prices. 2500 for jdm engine, tranny, ecu. 900 just to put motor in.
i heard i would need a welded on mount for the tranny. then pedals and shifter equipment!?!?!?

maybe it would jus be better to buy a 5g.
too bad..i was really wanting to put a jdm h22 in my car

he wants a manual...

My mechanic swapped a H22A into a customers Accord, but it was auto. So the customer came back a week later and paid for him to swap it to a 5-speed tranny. Last thing that I heard was that he might be getting a JRSC for it. I guess the speed bug bit him or something

Just buy a new lude, for what you would spend in custom work, it isn't worth it. I wanted it done on a Mazda (parts are less expensive) before i got my lude. New axles, trans, clutch, flywheel, plus custom work estimated at about 5,000 or so, and that was at a place that has done it before.

i believe you would have to buy new gauges and all that stuff too. i dont see how you would get away without a new ECU either. it might just be smarter to buy a new lude and go from there.

You already need a new ecu to run the h22. You don't have that many more parts then someone going from manual to manual h23to h22. As far as gauge you don't need a new one but you can replace it for correct redline but anyone doing a swap has the same problem. You do need to run the shift linkage and do the center console work, add the third petal and smaller brake, then you have to add some more stuff for the clutch like the clutch master cylinder.

brendon, how much do u thikn the tranny swap would cost me all together. I was also told i would need to have a body shop weld a mount for the tranny.

as far as the engine, tranny and ecu go....i can get everything shipped for 2500

and i really dont care at all about the gauges.
