Auto-manual conersion Question

Hey guys, i have a 92 auto and wanted to convert it to stick...seeing as it an S model (f22a) dont laugh im doing a h22 swap in the summer if everything goes according to plan. well since its an f22a and thats an accord motor as well, would i be able to jus get the parts from an accord including tranny, and ecu? the parts would be much cheaper than getting it from a prelude...thanks

no you have to get the parts from a prelude...they are built with the preludes body and size in mind...other cars may have longer or shorter shift cables, linkage and other stuff...i have an extra set of all the parts needed for the auto/manual conversion minus the tranny and ecu...if you need the parts let me know i have a post in the personal classified describing everything i have if you need the info...also the accord tranny would bolt up to the h22 but you will have different gear ratios and you have to get the ecu from another prelude (P13)

Auto to manual

I have bought everything to convert my h23a to a manual, except for the tranny and ecu , But someone told me that i the h23a manuals have different cam shafts and that my car would be slower without them, what do you guys think?

from reading peoples personal experience on this board you are going to cut a half second off your quarter. Of course it all depends on the mods you do along with it. Like clutch/Flywheel.

H23 engines are the same whether it's manual or automatic. The only difference between auto H23 and manual H23 on the drivetrain is the driver's side axle and yes if you do this swap, you'll never go back. My best mod I did to my car is the auto to manual swap.

overall I spent about $900 for everything including the Excedy racing clutch and Clutchmaster's aluminum flywheel. Labor was free because I did it myself. I think I bought my tranny for $250 or so.
