ATTN: VTEC 4WS preludes

Did any of you guys replace your speedometer with a VTEC one. I ordered one and received today. Kinda disappointed though. I found out there is no 4WS indicator on it. I thought the USDM guages had a 4WS indicator on them even though they didn't come with 4WS. I could have sworn I seen somewhere a VTEC guage with one.

Anyway, did you guys say screw it and kept your old guage regardless or has anyone swapped it. I just love my Honda so much because if there is something wrong with it, it will tell me. I don't know if I will put that VTEC guage in now. I'm wondering if I can find the 4WS wire in the back and just run a light off of it and put that elsewhere.

Anyhow, what did you guys do?

I'm just worried that if there is something wrong the 4WS system I won't know.

yes.... me too, that's why i haven't cross over to the VTEC gauge side..... you can try this... get a JDM VTEC 4WS gauge... but you'll have to learn what km is what mph.

Sounds more easy saying it than doin it. I've been planning on doin this swap for a while. I 've got 3 guages sitting at my house. None of them have it. I have a JDM one that has kilometers and that little box but it has no 4WS indicator. Probably goin to sell it.

Strange, as my car is obviously VTEC and 4WS with the yellow 4WS light on the dash. Being JDM, the speedo read in KMH, but it has been converted to read in MPH but retaining the original clocks.

I'll go get some pics...

It's a little blurry (damn cold = shaky hand ) but you can see the light in the top right corner.

No, all JDM cars are limited to 180 kph by law. So, the speedo doesn't read any further than that. I had it converted to read in mph for UK laws whilst retaining the original gauge. Basically the speedo hasn't come out, but because the speedo is electronic, rather than the older style cable drive used on other cars, it's just a case of reprogramming it. It now accurately shows my speed in mph.

What I'm lloking for is an electroluminesent guage honestly in MPH or KPH that is for a VTEC with the ABS indicator and the 4WS indicator. I have got onethat looks like U.K VTEC in KPH but it is for an automatic and doesn't have the ABS or 4WS indicator. I also have one that is electroluminesent in KPH with an ABS but no 4WS with the ac/dc box. Now I have a USDM VTEC one in electo, but no 4WS. Then I have the one in my car. If anyone is interested in the first 2 let me know.

Not sure from your post, do you have a electrolum, VTEC redline manual gauge cluster in MPH with the little black box? If you do, I want it.

email me @ jhayner2@pacbell.net
post a pic if you can

too bad that the JDM speedo only goes to 180km/h It would've been cool to have a speedo only in km/h but I can tell from experience that my car can go higher than that

No its not for sale. Since I can't find a speedo with what I need, I think I may rig one of those high intensity l.e.ds to the 4WS wire and hopefuly that will work unless someone has another idea. I just like the fact my car is smart enough to tell me there is something wrong. I want to keep that nicety.

Its got everything you just stated except for the 4WS indicator. Thats my dilemma. Any way I'm selling it on EBAY and my reserve price is 149.99

I'd rather someone on this board wins it.
