The JDMs basically just have 2 bolts to slide back and forth. I didnt really see anything to adjust them up and down. For the most part they are set good from the factory.

Shadow, you have to remember that JDM's come off a right hand drive car. The beam pattern isn't suited for a left hand drive car and I don't think it will ever appear as well as our USDM lights no matter how much adjusting you do.

Sit in your passenger seat and I'll bet that the beam pattern looks perfect.

Mine aren't perfect either, it's just something we have to live with. In my opinion it is worth the compromise

Mark

I agree with Mark. You can't get the aim of the light exactly right since it is JDM after all, but hey...live with it. I have and it's not that bad.

yes, you can adjust the vertical aim of the jdm headlights

there are rotating screws that allow you to adjust it.

adjusting them is fairly easy using a philips head screw driver.

to get an idea of what these adjusters look like, just find a friend with an EK Civic

it has the same type of adjusters and are aimed the same way

there are holes in your radiator support above the headlights. stick a long philips down there & into the little gear, and turn it. Both the H4 and H1 bulbs can be adjusted up and down, and left and right

The reason the JDM light pattern is different is because the light cut-off angles up on the left side instead of the right. This doesn't hurt anything much except making your headlights brighter to on coming traffic.

digging this one up, but I've searched and can't find which bottle cap adjusts what. my driver's side H4 is fairly to considerably lower than my passenger side H4, and I can't figure out which on raises/lowers it. see where all 4 are, and I'm assuming the 2 closest to the H1 are for the H1. The one right above the H4 didn't seem to change the height at all, but i couldn't really tell. jPerhaps this is a job better suited for night time. Any help would be great, thanks.

ok, yours are a lot better matched height-wise than mine, my left (US driver's side) H4 is a lot lower than yours. Any idea which wheel is was that adjusts up/down for the H4?

actually those are my low beams (H1) the highs are the H4 ..

No adjustment has been made on these bulbs since they got put on my lude.. I was pretty close to that wall though, maybe 7 feet? .. the H1 's i have in there are chiddy, im waiting for a chance to get some PIAA H1's ..

I've got a set of PIAA H4's ready to install to the high beam ... I should get some highway shots when I get out to my parents cabin in British Columbia this summer

I really dont have any idea what wheel adjusts what ..

Really though I think its time to make a thread called "Everything you need to know about JDM 1 piece headlights"

Adjustment instructions, what way moves what where ... the flare, installing, wiring, what bulbs to use etc.

Something faqworthy that everybody can benefit from.

I agree, who's tech savy, literate, and already did this swap?? And has the time to take some pics and write up a thread?
