Anyone know how to remove the fuel pump?

I think mine is bad. I don't have the slightest clue on how to get it out or where it even is. Someone says there is a way to test it if it's broken or not, but he's not too sure either. any help will do. I'm desperate.

thanks

I don't think that's what's wrong Alan, if it were, the car would crank when you tried to start it.

hmm that's what I was thinking. It just makes this funky electrical sound when I try and start. I wish it would throw a CEL code.

Yeah, it just makes that sound. It could be the battery, but my stereo and stuff still work... But I did accidently drain my battery when I changed my distributor and I had to jump start it...

I don't think you need to look up the helms just yet.

Push start your car, if it starts then you've solved your problem. Or if you want to rule out the battery try to jump your car again.

Hey,
After my swap, my car wouldn't start. The radio worked, and all the other electric powered things(windows, locks, etc.) It ended up being my battery. It just didn't have any cranking amps left. Remove your battery and starter, and take them to a auto supply store(auto zone, Carquest, O'reillys, napa, etc.) They will test them for free. You will know your problem right there.

Yes. If the battery is indeed dead, then I suspect a faulty alternator.

If it is your starter then you should be able to bang the starter with a hammer while someone tries to crank it over. If it starts then you kow it's the starter solinoid and your starter needs to be replaced

If it is your alternator then you should be able to charge it up with another car, drive to your local autozone ect. without using any lights/stereo/electrical equipment (ie go in the day time) they will test it and probably have a cheap replacement and help you install it for free

it was the timing belt. The flywheel was still turning. Cams weren't. We yanked the valve cover, nothing visibly wrong that we could see with the belt but it's pretty loose.

hmm
