anyone havin trouble with top end power??

last night i was runnin this GSR from dead stops and rollin starts, my clutch has been slippin alot and aslo it grinds into second at high rpms. anyways i was totally rappin this gsr when i wouldnt grind in to second. but it seems that when i would grind into second a few times it would give him that chance to catch up. but one run i grinded and he caught up and stay with me into almost 5th gear until i got off it. im pretty sure its the grinding into second thats slowing me down to make him catch up, but i gotta new clutch on order so thats gonna be taken care of. but do any of you have top end problems like that where your not gettin to much on the top end. the GSR was modded with I/H/E im modded with I/H/E/pullies

gsr's are quick cars, no doubt about that.... but i know what u mean when you say you grind into a gear and it slows you down alot... I was running my friend's itr the other day and i had him in 1st and 2nd but i grinded into 3rd and from that point, it felt like i stopped moving b/c it started to pull from me so bad... it also can be b/c 3rd is the strongest gear for an itr..
