Anyone had a bulb explode in their headlight housing?

Yeah it sucks, one of my lowbeam bulbs exploded and now there's a mess of glass inside of my headlight housing. I have a pr of Hiper Industries Hiperwhites.

Anyone ever experienced this? Why would a bulb explode?

Yes it happens quite a bit to people I know, the blue or hyper white bulbs if not properly installed (touching glass) will cause them to either burn out or explode the only way to clean it out is by opening up the headlight and cleaning it

i peices of cheap bulbs in both my JDMs just chillen there. too lazy too clean them out. i will one of these days. im guessing they burst cause of the gas inside of them. when the bulb goes out, it sparks and mixed with the gas causes an explosion. just my theory.

whats weird i had piaa hyperwhite 9006. the right one blew. i pulled it out to look at it and the filament was hanging. i put it back cause i didn't have anything to replace it yet. that night as i was driving i hit a bump and the light went back on. pulled it again and the filament was welded back into place...now aint that some lucky sh*t. that was a year ago, still going strong and i've had these since 98.
