Anyone experienced with 4th gen dash speaker and 6x9 free air kicker sub?

As the topic stated, does it really bring out a more crispy sound? If including dash speaker, I will have 7 speakers and 1 sub for my 4th gen lude Not sure if this sounds good for you guys.

The shop told me I don't need an amp for a 6x9 sub, what you guys think?

You should get an amp for the Kicker free air. I was using a Kicker KX75.2 (you can get one for under $50 on ebay) when I had the F6x9c sub in my car. That amp gave it 75W RMS of power.. which is pretty much tops for that sub IIRC. It added extra bass.. not a whole lot due to road noises, but it was alright.

I've got the center dash speaker and the original (Pioneer) 30w 6x9 sub.

The overall sound improved when I installed it. It's more crisp indeed, because of the middle/high tones from the center speakers. The sub isn't really loud, but you'll notice a little extra bass. I've used a simple crossover for the sub, because the wires of the OEM attached mini-amp were cut too short and I didn't feel like fixing it.

I'm looking for the Kicker sub as well, to put some extra kick in de back.

Oh, the total of speakers is 8 plus 1 sub there are 2 small speakers on the center dash panel.

The kickers are discontinued but you can see them pop-up on eBay so now and then...

I think the sub is rated for 100W.. but that may be peak not RMS. The KX75.2 worked fine with my Kicker free air though.

In my personal experience, a decent set of components and a 10" sealed subwoofer are a much better combo than the dash speaker and 6x9. I've gone through 3 sets of components, and about 5 different sub setups in this car before realizing that messing with the 6x9 location is a waste of time.

Let us know when you install it. I've been thinking of getting this sub as well.
