Anyone ever use Bay Speed or JDM Aerokit 75 degree door conversion kit

My son is excited about the mods we are making to our new gen 4. He recently saw some Lambo doors on another 4g. I want to get something cheep and easy to swap if they don't work out. I don't want to loose too much money. What are your opinions.

^not to do it

never liked the whole concept of lambo doors on a car not made for it. this is of course unless you are making a show car then i guess its whatever to "ooo" and "ahh"

also i remember someone posting about buying cheap kits is the same as making a home depot version for youself. if you do it, i guess get a good quality kit and you might like the whole idea....get a cheap kit, well you just aren't expecting the best

Ebay vertical door kits do in fact work with "some modification"
My buddy has one on his 4th gen. He paid about 400 for them shipped through ebay. A great quality kit normally goes for around a grand to 1,300 dollars, so 400 through ebay is a lot more affordable.

Of course, the hinges do shake a little when closing and they aren't the most stable or practical. All in all you get what you pay for--in this case being "alright" quality, but for the price, I gotta agree it's an expensive mod...

This of course is an individual choice, but I have an opinion on the matter:
I was nearly killed (in my 5th gen) by an SUV T-boning me on the drivers side. Honda's door construction saved my life. If you make a modification like this, you will compromise Honda's excellent safety of the car. I would never do a mod like this when it compromises basic safety. However, I have met others who have priorities in other places, so to each their own.

Well...like many, he may just be going for a nice looking ride...
Let's not hate on him for wanting to put an external mod. Keep in mind not everyone's looking to street race a prelude or be the fastest....

WHAT??? WHY NOT???

i have nothing against a good looking car, but if two cars both look good, the only way to settle it beyond personal preference is to race, in my book, and the person with a bit more under the hood has a better chance at winning..

i do agree with the issue of safety that was brought up, i hadnt thought of it, you might want to look into what the manufactures of the door kit put into safety/strength in a crash.

I agree 100% The same thing happened to me in my old 5th gen. That car saved my life that night, and that's why I bought another one.

im liking these cars more and more

but it sounds like the vertical door kit is not loved so much, for you and the people around you (you mentioned your son) the door kit, or alteast the cheaper ones, doesnt sound like a good idea.

HA HA. The door falling off was a big concern for me. I appreciate every bodies input. I never thought of the safety issues. I definitely want both a show car and a fast car. In my opinion you cant have one with out the other. One thing that I know that i am looking for is ease of install. i would like something that can be slapped on for shows, runs and meets, and be removed for the every day.
Any suggestions on a lambo door with that in mind?
