After I had these installed I noticed a different noise coming from the motor. It's hard to describe. Like a zzzzzzzz??? gets higher pitched with higher rpm's. Is it because that side of the motor is all open now? Just wondering if this is common. thanks.
yea, its normal. i noticed the exact same thing. i'm thinking that since my cam gears are now exposed you can hear them spinning, making a high pitched whining sound.
I'm about to buy either AEM pulleys or cam gears. so i just had a few question for you cam gear guys......
how much were your cam gears? have u tuned them yet? If not, did u just set the timing at +2 for intake and -2 for exhaust? did you install them or how much was it to have them installed? where did you buy them from?
got the cam gears on a groupbuy for $230 shipped. Had them installed for $75. No dyno yet, so both are at 0. I'm waiting on some AEM fuel stuff before I make the trip for a dyno tune. There isn't a good one in my state so I have to travel about 3.5 hours to one. I can't wait to get tuned.
