Any way to expand the pass-through space for the trunk?
I went up to snowboarding today in the 'lude, and I had to take a binding off my board because it wouldn't fit through the ridiculously small hole in the pass-through between the trunk and the folded-down rear seat. Has anyone tried to expand this, possibly shaving off parts of the edges so you can fit more through? Why in the world would they make this so small? It's super annoying, it would have made sense to just have both rear seats fold down.
If anyone has any ideas, feel free to throw them at me.
Couple things I could think of that would be easier.
1. Put the board in the back seat, should fit.
2. Put the board in the trunk but so that it's going across instead of along.
3. If you're going up alone, but it in the front seat.
4. Switch to skiing cuz those will fit through the hole just fine.
^^lol, Half those were completely pointless for this guy... -_-
Are you taking any passengers OP?
You could just remove the back seats for the trip, if that would be worth it to you.. It's very simple, only a few bolts.. Bottom cushions are bolt-less and the upper half of the driver side only has two.. Though then there are metal braces behind the seats, but you might be able to remove these to give you more room also..
Other wise, I don't know what else you can do.. :/
Well, besides reclining the passenger front seat and laying your board on it, if you don't have a passenger...

This is the most entertaining list I have ever seen. I fell off my chair reading this. Thanks man! You made my day!
I rode up with a buddy of mine, his board was diagonally across the back seats and mine was using the pass-through without a binding on. I'm gonna go ahead and say that taking a binding off is easier than taking out a back seat, I was just wondering if anyone knew of a permanent modification to make the hole bigger.
Cut it, obviously, the only question is how much does the car rely on that for added rigidity, would you make up for it somehow, or are you just going to make the car less structurally sound... and the answer is, I don't know.
But yeah... search it on the web, or talk to a mechanical engineer who is good at analyzing those things.
why are you going snow boarding in a prelude? u hit one bad road you need a tow truck. lol at the list

Haha glad I could provide a few laughs! And yea the point was to make sure he tried every possible option before just trying the pass through. I was in a sarcastic mood.
But on a more serious note, A bunch of friends and I go up to the mountain every weekend and the only way we can fit all our **** is to shove 3 boards and 1 pair of skis in the front seat of my buddies car. So waht I'm getting at, is try putting the boards base to base in the back seat where your friends board was, I don't know how long your boards are, and I haven't even seen my lude in a few months since i've been at school but it's just an idea.
