any issues to consider with a "used" exhuast/header?
i have a seperate project car that i am saving up for and am dumping my money into that instead of the prelude...but i am looking to buy a greddy header, hi-flow cat and exhaust...i see used greddy headers all the time for like 50-100 bucks, any issues with buying a used header or exhaust? carbon buildup, etc...just wondering. thanks

Just as long as the header doesn't have any dents or imperfections that would affect the flow of gas, then you will be fine. You can always clean out the carbon build-up on the inside of the header, and if the outside doesnt look like new you can get it coated.
I'm gonna be sellin' a DC soon, when my Greddy comes in from TurboEvo. Mine haas been bottomed out too, but I don't know if the interior is being restricted.. won't know til I take it off.. otherwise should be fine.
this is a local kid im talking about...i will probly buy it, get something to clean up the carbon buildup, then do what i can to the outside. most every header you come across for an import has some scraping on the bottom...

use a dremel with a polishing buffer pad and Meguiars Metal restorer. Works wonders and very little time
what you actually need to be looking for are leaks in the header. after a couple years they can just start to break down. check all the areas where the tubes meet and are welded-see if there are dark black streaks anywhere around them.
