IMO 18's look too big on the 4th gen due to the lower profile.
It makes it look like a clown car (no pun intended).
17's is about the biggest I would personally go but again, it's your car. I've seen plenty of 4th gens with 18's but most of the time they're the cheap rims.

Know where I can see any pics of an 4th gen with 18's and a decent drop? I can't seem to find but one guy on the forum that has em' and he doesn't have any pics anywhere. I spent a few hrs searching today.

I have put them on before just to see how it looks, the problem is that they currently have 235/45-18's mounted on them and they're HUGE. I have to raise the car to get them to fit, and then it just throws off the whole look beacuse the tires are huge and the car is all 4x4.
I think the photoshop is a good representation of how its going to look... the question is does it still look TOO big?
My car had 18's when I bought it, put off getting smaller wheels to do other things like engine and tranny swap, but for some reason a lot of people seem to like them. I'm about to buy some 17x7.5 while these are 18x7.5, I would say if you really want to do it get the right width tire, it makes it look better. I'm on 215/35/18 but I saw a subaru with 235/35/18 tires on a 18x7.5 and it made it look a lot better. Hopefully I don't have a hard time selling these, they're nice wheels but having such thin tires is no fun. Oh, they're Enkei OR-52's, maybe people like them cause they aren't cheepo's. =p

That's the only other one I have since I've been camera shy waiting to get 17's. =p
Like I said, the tires look thin because of the tread width, if my tires were 225 or 235 it would look alot better on the 7.5 width rim. There is a thread in the 5th gen section where a few people posted their 18in wheel set ups but after all they're 5th gens so it's kinda hard to compare. The main thing is having the 35 profile, hope you don't live in an area with poor road surface...
EDIT: Oh there was a 5th gen'r with 225/40/18 tires which is oversized but it looked good and everyone on the forum seemed to like it, I think the car was even in some magazine.

I get my car back tomarrow, they actually look the best from the angle you're suggesting, I got a friend at the dealer to replace my clutch slave and master for free so it's been there. Dude I'm looking for some new wheels, if you wanna go back 4 lug and buy these LMK, you're not far from me...

i have 18x7.5 on my prelude. Lowered with coilovers with 225/35-18 tires. If I could go back in time, I would've gotten 17s. Finding a 225/35-18 size for my wheels is hard. I've been running Sumitomo HTR+ with no problems for a while but found out they're closing out the model. So I'm stuck with finding another brand of just buying a whole 'nother wheel size. There are a lot more choices for tires if you run 17s rather than 18s. Sometimes you have to think about function rather than appearance (of having 18s on your car).
But is there anyone who runs 225/40-18s on their prelude?? some ppl said it will not rub the fenders and others say it will. I dont wana take a risk unless i get some good feedback on that tire size. I'd also like to know the conditions you'll have to consider before putting this size on. THanks for any tips.
I know what you're saying about the size you're running now but I found when looking that 235/35/18 was easy to find but fender modification may be required but not sure. I would look for the 235/35/18 before going out of the diameter spec. There is someone running the 40 profile on 18's, its a 5th gen, the most recent pic I saw was in the post pics of slammed ludes thread.

either new 17" tires for my s2k wheels to stay on the prelude
or new 18" tires for my accord wheels to go on the prelude
Here's something else for you to consider. If you go with 17's you will have many more tire options, and they will be much cheaper than low profile tires for the 18's.
I agree with indylude18. Like I mention a couple of posts before, I have 18s and the tire selection sucks for the recommended size for no rubbing (against the fender). LoL
I did decide to do a 205/40-17 tire on my AP2 v1's--- I'll probably space em' out a bit go for a little bit of a flush look/stance with them.. dont wanna stretch the tire anymore than 205 on a 7" wide wheel though. so i'll be sure to update the post later with accurate pics
The biggest problem I had with 18's was maintenence. Tires die quick, 2 rims with major air leaking bends, 1 got a irrepairable crack. I think I bought5 rims, couldn't replace the others after that since they were discontinued and basically impossible to find. Life has been that much more convinient once I went back to stock. If I did it again it'd def be 17's or even 16's.
Damn dude very nice Prelude!! What front lip is that? and do you know where I can find the 1pc JDM Headlights? (with the black housing) i've been trying to find some for a while with no success.
