antenna options

Ok so anyone figure out a way to swap out the automatic antenna for like a regular antenna that just bends? The kind on like the Ford Contours? I am tired of having to wd-40 or grease up the antenna.

Fuba makes a fender mount antenna. Fuba makes the short roof top antennas you see on top of VW's and such.

the one Fuba makes for the fender looks just like the rooftop ones, only diff is it mounts on the fender, so the base is a little smaller.

this link:

Shows a picture of a similar antenna on the rear fender of an S2000. This is not the Fuba one, but the Fuba one looks just like it. But honestly, I don't even know if Fuba even makes the fender version anymore...that was a long long time ago. But this photo gives you an idea of what a short mast flexible antenna would look like on the fender, as opposed to the roof.

I doubt that would get in the way anyway. The sunroof goes up and not that far back.

It goes all the way back and reaches the rear windshield doesn't it?

I dnot mind not having radio, and I hate the look of the antenna when its up. So I just unplugged the power to the antenna motor.

Word. I took my antenna motor out, and just used the end of the aerial to plug up the hole. Not exactly a shaved look, but cleaner.
Once you do that, you have the coaxial cable still to play with. You can buy an antenna that sticks on underneath the rear windshield, like 5th gens have.

Doesn't anyone have their HU hooked up so the attenna only comes up when you are listening to the radio and not to cds?
