Another Interior mod: '03 civic maplight & Digital Compass/Dimming Rear View Mirror

Maplights resemble the 5th Gen lude ones quite a bit. Weren't easy to adapt to fit since they are very deep/tall - but obviously it could be done.

I also changed the compass display to blue to match the rest of the dash lights...hope you enjoy, any questions lemme know!

Not harder than any other mod, probably getting the right measurements for cutting the headliner was the hardest for me.

The mirror is NOT a honda part, i think it belonged to a late model GM truck, the brand name is Gentex. Got it from ebay a few months ago for $70. The mount is very different, the OEM mirror and mount had to come out completely and had to install the new "button" mount most domestic cars have nowadays.

Thanks everyone for the comments

So u used a 03 civic map light and it fit ok? And you say the 5th gen map light is too deep? I kno that the 94-96 VTEC models have the maplight between the visors and i was going to do that mod. Looks GREAT tho. Good job.

I was thinking about doing the mirror thing to my 5th gen cept I was gonna buy a rear view mirror from a Honda Pilot. It's finding the time to do all of it that I don't have

Thanks dude, the 03 civic light may very well be the same part # as the 5th gen. they are both too "tall"for a 4gen. i had to shave over 1/2" from the top and the holes wouldn't even align properly to the bolt holes in my 4g. A big pain in the ass. My advice is get the right maplight since it takes all the guesswork out of making it fit.
