alternator voltage up and down

I have a 93 si.
I am a stereo fanatic!!
I want the most out of my music possible.
I bought a volt meter and noticed the voltage sits at 14.5-6
I like the voltage there.
But......it doesnt stay there.
The alt seems to turn off intermittently.
It will be 14.6, then drop to 13.3 and fall all the way to 12.5
Even with the stereo playing (4000 watt draw) it still does this.
If I turn on the headlights it stays at a constant 14.XXX and never falls below 13.6 under heavy load.
I have a few 75 AH batts in the trunk I charge every night.
Is there a way to stop the alt from cycling on and off?

I found out honda's have a circuit called ELD electronic load detector. It has a muodule under the fuse box in the engine bay. It only senses the current draw from the module and cannot see what is pulled from the battery. It will drop from 14.5 to 12.5 when not needed to reduce drag and help gas mileage.

Well remember... the extra batteries just become more load on the alternator as soon as that engine is started (as even a fully charged new battery will only.be at 12.6 volts and alternators put out between 13.8 to 14.4 volts
