alternator overdrive pulley

the underdrive pulley kit is underiving my alternator by far to much so my options are to buy a higher output alternator, have it re-wound, put the oem heavy ass pulley on the crank, or overdrive the alternator

i know the stuff is out there for people who do audio competition stuff i just cant find it........

any ideas?

If your looking for throttle response, a lightweight flywheel on a built engine does wonders... Heres a vid of someones built h22

i apericate the input but again the whole concept has been missed here

i INTENTIONALY put UNDER-DRIVING pulleys on the car to UNDER drive the power steering pulley especially and the ac ok i like ac but i can live with a little less of it and a little less power to the power sterring and took the guys advice i bought the pulley kit from when he said your alternator will still work fine>
ITS NOT

i need to increase the speed the alternator spins at.
or increase its standard output

there are 3 maybe 4 options
put the oem crank pulley on (there is very very very) little difference in the size of the underdrive pulley on the alt. stock and the shiny underdrive pulley so that is not going to bring it up high enough.
science most underdriving occours at the crank pulley (with this kit) that is the root of the change.
to justify the $120 i spent on the kit i would like to ONLY attack the alternator pulley size and leave my 2 lb crank pulley on there and not revert to the 12 lb stock pulley

option 2 is reverting back

option 3 is a higher output alternator or having mine re-strung to output a few more amps

option 4 is to have the ecu re-calibrated to make the alternator regulator either target a higher voltage or lock the regulator on at all times which equals a alternator that will burn out faster.

btw just because a pulley is smaller does not make it underiven it depends weither that pulley is being drivin or is driving.....

for example a 3 inch in diamater crank pulley in one full reveloution is going to move the belt 6 inches in the direction it spins in one full revoloution
and a 1 inch in diamater pulley is going to move the belt maybe 2 inches in said direction in one full revoloution therefore underdriving the belt and its accecories which is what my setup does.

now flip over to a pump or alt. if the pulley is 3 inches wide its going to take what 6 inches of belt to make it make a full revoloution BUT if the pulley is 1 inch its going to take maybe 2 inches of belt to make a full revoloution, there fore its going to make more reveloutions total which goes back to the x:x ratio's which is the better way to describe it but can get confusing.

that aside once again i need a OVER drive pulley for the alt. it needs to be SMALLER than oem

and remember under-over driving depends on if the componet "i,e, crank power steering ps ac " depends if that componet is driving or being driven......

so let me make a gentle correction before someone just blasphamizes the above diagram.....that pulley labeled underdrive is actually overdrive, now if that was a crank pulley then it would be a under drive pulley yes.

any ideas guys?

food for thought guys, if i could go back i would have not bought underiving pulleys just lightweight pulleys
