So my battery died...i went to Kragen to get it checked, and the assured me that I just needed a new one. Due to the fact that I am a poor college student, I bummed a battery off of my buddies 92 si. The battery is fairly new, and it worked fine..problem solved.
Then the other day the car just didnt want to start again.. so I got a jump and I was fine. I drove for about half an hour back to my house and the car ran normal. But when I turned it off, and then tried to restart it, it wouldnt kick over.
Is this another bad battery? or is my alternator shot?
my starter was having problems when i had to replace the alternator. check the starter first just to be sure. check the charge on the battery just to be sure before you invest in another alternator.

If you turn off the car after driving for at least 10 min, and you try to turn it back on and you get no(or dim) dash lights, and the car won't start.. then it's most likely your alternator, but it could also be a bad battery that won't hold a charge at all.
If you have full electrical power and it just won't kick over, then you may be having starter issues.
If the only time it doesn't start is if it's been sitting overnight or a prolonged period of time, then it's your battery not holding charge.
id have that battery tested and also have your alternator checked. My friend had a similar problem with his maxima. He ended up killing his alternator because of his bad battery.
It seems as if its a charge problem with the battery. When I turn the car off, and try and turn in back on it turns a few times, but never all the way. so when i try again the turns become less and less powerful until I just hear a click. Its probably just a dead battery.
that doesn't sound like a starter problem, though it COULD possibly be that the starter is drawing too much current.... but I doubt it.
I'm thinking it's your alternator and battery. You see, when your alternator goes out, you car then runs directly off of your battery.. which in turn kills your battery. Your alternator went out, killed your battery, you put in a new batt, but the alt was still dead.. so it started when you put it in.. then the alt drained the batt and now your "new" battery is dieing as well. Go to another autozone or whatever you have near you and have your alt tested again...
It could also be just the battery, but check both, again.
Mm... I think it would be better to just get a new alt from Autozone or whatever, with a lifetime warranty.. you can't get that from an OEM alt, nor online.
