alternative header, best for price imo!

How come I have not heard of anyone using the Kamikaze header? I know their name sounds cheesy, but I have read nothing but great things about them... Endyn even uses/recommends their header!

The one for the lude has a 2.5" collector, 1 3/4" short runners for power up top(what my h23 needs DESPERATELY)..

ceramic coated they are $300-$320...

I'm pickin one up shortly..

http://www.mmrusa.com/kamheaders.htm

supposedly they have been around for 15 years..

From what I have read, supposedly they are only good for FI. Someone dynoed some on a stock motor and actually lost horsepower. I think if you look in T.O.O's archive it mentions that they don't recommend it for basic NA applications. Might want to do a search on here or H-T.com too for more info.

Yes, as yield said. Kamikaze is a great FI header. Lisa had it with her SC and got good gains.

^^^ WOW, so when you say FI you mean nitrous cause im not aware of any SC for the h23. i would of thought that any after market header would be better than the stock h23a1 header.

yeah, i think its for h22 cause somebody has one with a SC and well...as indirectly stated but painfully obvious to notice that the kamikaze header will not be very good for turbo, unless you strap it to the hook and link it to your intake RAM AIR

Let me be MORE specific then I've never heard a good review about these things on EITHER an H22 or H23 basic NA setup. The ONLY time I've heard a good thing about them is when it's been an FI application, which yes, was on a H22 - duh.

Just look at the design though - 4 short pipes into one fat collector. Where else have you seen that?? The only 4-1 headers I've seen for Honda applications all have 4 long pipes that usually merge just before the flex pipe in front of the cat. If it was such a great design don't you think more companies would be using it and we would have heard more about it?

Personally I say go for it if you want. Nobody has had one around here for a long time. Maybe you'll be pleasantly surprised. If you want a big improvement up top you'll need cams though - a header won't get you too much.

BTW, this is ENDYN's own thoughts on the topic from the discussion forums:
"I don't recommend the Kamikaze for any normally aspirated combination, but it sure works well on blower combinations."

i don't believe DC makes a stainless for the H23 anymore... might can find one in stock somewhere though?

i just went with ceramic and was done with it.

Judging by just the butt dyno experience........I had this header on my H23 and it felt pretty good. I couldn't get it to fit properly though......the downpipe was so wide that it would hit against the support beam on the bottom of the car. Low end power was compromised a bit but high end power felt alot better.

Because of the fitment issue I just went and bought a DC Sports. Honestly.....the DC felt more like stock than anything else....not knocking it though.

I still have the Kamikaze and might put it back on just to see how it feels again against the DC. Or I'll just sell it.

Quick question.......anyone know if the downpipe for the header will bolt up to the DC header?

Kamikaze has a 5th gen application. Lisa (LudeGirl1004) has a 5th gen with JRSC and Kamikaze header.
