All these headlight options really confuse me....

I have heard that hyper-white bulbs burn out pretty quick.

This guy is offering a five year warranty on the bulbs though.
Check this out:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2455760522

Are this crappy? Will they work?

What is a good option. Some bulbs I have seen are like $70.

What is H1,2,3,4 ?? 9005 9006?

Any help appreciated, thanks.

9005 and 9006, are the Low beam and high beam of your stock headlights. H1, H4 are the low beam and high beam of Projectors and HID systems. What you need is a good set of 9005,9006 assuming you have stock headlights. I believe the JDM's use the 9000's too. I forget the brand names. When i get home i will list them. Correct me if im wrong.

Man, that is a good start. Thanks.

So what is a projector and an HID system, if you can indulge me further.

Thanks,
Swami

all jdm one piece headlights for 4th gens use H4 bulbs for the low beam. H1 is for the high. as for all the cheap hyper white bulbs out there, they dont last forever. but i use them all the time. you can get a set between 10-15 bucks, and they last me for around 6 months to a year. compared with spending 75 bucks, i will just keep getting the cheap ones. even if the cheap ones last 6 months, and cost 15 bucks, the 75 dollar ones would have to last 5 years to make it worth it, and i dont think that they would last that long. not to mention that only one bulb goes out, so you can just keep putting in one new bulb at a time.

if you have stock headlights, you use 9006 for low and 9005 for high, but i don't recommend you buying from PCP, they sell cheap parts and their customer service sucks

whoops. Too late. I just bought clear bumper lights from them, hopefully that works out well.

I actually did search for quite a while. and I did find that 9005/9006 was for my car, and that hyperwhites burn out fast. I was unable to find out if H1-4s would work, or even what they are. I still dont' know what a projector or an HID is.

Hadn't thought about it, but I almost never drive "my car" at night. Those cheap bulbs would probably last me 5 years.

Thanks,
Swami

Those are projectors...

An HID system is on the upwards of 600-800 bucks, its what u see on all the new bmw's and mercedes. You know how ther lights are so bright. There is a system that makes them that way, that provide them extra power. Some projectors use it too i believe.

Thats a good company that sells HID systems, you would have to have it professionally installed.

Hope this does you some good.

Thanks, I appreciate the lesson.

Every once in a while, I see cars that seem to have blue headlamps. Thats what I'd really like to install. As I said, I will rarely ever use em, so quality isn't much of an issue. Are those blue lights the "Hyperwhites"? Or something else?

Thanks again,
Swami

look for posts by Z or pIOUs for HID, they retrofit some projectors into their stock prelude headlights and they look awesome and work like they would if they were OEM.

any TRUE HID will have a bulb (D2S or D2R) a Ballast and possibly a projector .. Rebased bulbs are a D2S or D2R bulb in a socket that will plug into a 9005/9006 for example ... They are Brighter (4100K is pure white) and last ~25 years I've yeard.

Those 9006/9005 HID lights you get that are Xenon Gas and say 120Watts or BS like that for 15bux on Ebay are junk, they wont last more than 6months regularly and are NOT hids no matter if it says it.. they'll even claim 6000k color temperature but thats only coloring and degrades brightness , light life, and quality of output.

Now your thinking ok, spend 300bux to get a hid kit, throw it in my stock housings and away you go .. .which would work .. EXCEPT, you'll spew glare all over the road and piss off every oncoming vehicle (and you should care about this) because you have reflector housings and they dont project the light in a straight cut off beam, so when you put the projectors on the HID light you'll get a straight precise cutoff line where everything below the line is bright like day light, and everything above is dark as night time.

Why don't you just get sylvania silverstars, because unlike all those cheap Ebay hyperwhite and HID lookalikes, the sylvanias are actually a BRIGHTER and whiter light. Those cheap knock-offs reduce your visibility. The silverstars go for about $40/pair..
