air fuel guage write up?

I've noticed that no one has done a detailed write up on a air/fuel guage install. Does anyone have any pics of a install or anything, what I found on my search wasnt' even a write up, so maybe someone can help out,

the 02 sensor is best spliced into by the ecu correct? The solid white one right?

any pics or suggestions is appreciated.

Even if somebody wants to cruise over and help install it, just to hang out let me know.

Matt, The install is straight forward. Just like you said, you just have to tap into the white wire on the ECU. I used the fuse panel for power and got a good ground. There are two spots in the fuse panel(3 and 4, IIRC) that have power. I used a female spade connector to get my 12v. I ran wires behind the dash to get over the ECU location.

As far as drilling/taping.... I drilled my gauge pod and used the plastic pins that came with it. I drilled a 1/2" hole into the pillar to run all the wires and used a rubber grommet to protect the wires.

I just used wire ties behind the pillar piece to make it nice and clean. The pillar piece just pulls out. It was a very easy install. All in All I loved the finished product!

Hey Mr. "C" big thanks, I'm gonna try to hook it up today, I'm real curious to see what it does when I spray. That's why I got it, to make sure I don't lean out, how quick is the reaction when you run lean or rich, is it immediate, or does it take a minute or so?

you are going to be surprised when you hook it up. The only time I noticed a difference was in the morning when it was cold. It would run rich and gradually lean itself out and at WOT it would run rich. But in daily driving it was all over the place because the computer works on ratios. It is hard for the A/F gauge to keep up. So it is very sporadic! It will let you know if you are running lean when you spray though. It will stay over to the lean side for awhile. It should tell you right away.
