air conditioning

Hi guys, my AC is no longer cold so I'm guessing it's out of the refrigerant. I was wondering for the 95 model, what type does it use, R-134Aa Refrigerant? Is there a kit I can buy to refill it, someone was saying there was or am I just better off to take it to the shop.

95's use r134a. It should say under the hood. Yes there are kits you can buy. If it's "out" of refrigerant then you probably have a leak as refrigerant isn't really used up in the a/c system. If you do have a leak you'll need to find it or when you refill it it will just leak out again. As r134a get old it just loses it's ability to cool efficiently where it just need a recharge.

check to see if the compressor runs. if it does run, then the coolant needs to be recharged. if it doesnt run, you have a leak, or a bad compressor. chances are you have a leak if it doesnt run. ALSO, your switch could be bad, so when you press A/C, the switch is faulty....

check the compressor first

The compressor does come on and the AC switch lights up and presumably works so the only thing I can think of is that it needs to be recharged like what you guys are saying. If there was a leak, what shoud I be looking for.

if there is a leak, the coolant would be low and the compressor would not turn on. it sounds like you just need a recharge

take it to your local Honda mechanic

Dude, take it to the shop, everyone i know including myself has ****ed up the whole thing when they do it themselves. Unless you know how to do it, not by just watching the video, but actually have experience with it, take it to a shop. It might be a bit pricy but its worth it compared to what youd pay if you broke it all together.
