Well last night im coming home from getting somthing to eat.. I leave IHOP im with my fiancee at that.(so i had extra person only 110lbs but still thats alot). I hop on i-10 and fly to go home its late its like 1am and i gotta get my daughter in the morning from the grandma's. Well im in my 93 Si h23a1 daily driver autotragic.. with aem SRI intake and rear exahust no header or cat. so not full exahust just 2.5' to knock off greddy muffler its tsudo i bought the car with it but its not to bad.. (doesent make it sound like a lawn mower..) Im getting to the point but, so i get off i-10 and get on airline highway (long straight road with red lights every mile or so and its abandon at night.. Im drivin i get to a light and this red civic pulls up... i can tell its a 96-00 civic cause my girl owns a 00 ex. d16y8 which my h23a1, auto(grannit i do go through the gears like a sport shift from 1, to 2, d3, then d4 i take it to line in 1st and 5-6k after cause h23 boggs bad over 5k unless you have cams,header ect..or so i was told.(i know its not good but i hardly do it when i race i get in the 5spd..)
So im thinking okay i can do this lol. My girl she owns the same damn car shes laughin you will whoop it.. Cause i beat her car bad in the h23a1, and will WAX in the 94 vtec PSHHHHHHHH

I notice on the back of the car i see ex so i know its not si i know the 99-00 si's had a b16a2 ut its not a si its an ex. So im thinkin pfft 127hp d16y8 vtec sohc. same engine i beat all the time. Light turns green i go i got a SERIOUS jump i think he was slippin even though hes the one who challanged me.. i take 2 cars then i hear WHAAAAAAMMMMMMMM and he flies by me and 2-4 car lengths ahead and slows down on me for mercy... so then we pull back up on side and go from a roll. this time its even through about 40-50mph lmao.. then he just leaves me another 2-4 cars and he slows.. rolls window down and says.. BB1 or 2? im like 2 h23a1 auto.. i say so you think you hot **** beatin up on a h23. then i tell him i know you HAVE to have a swap or boost. he says.. full b18c5 swap.. with 99 front end conversion.. thats ALL he told me.
So i tell him follow me let me get the 94 vtec. My vtec is a work in progress i have a v2 intake and ugh thats IT im saving up to build it and hondata plus im really not sure the route if im gonna tune it n/a or turbo... So my pretty much stock h22a1 against the civic i noticed it had white real light racing rims the civic did. So we go from a stop the vtec and the civic im looking for revenge.. take off i get ahead by half a car then he VROOOMS by again beating me by not a whole car length but almost one.. Then a roll he took half a car i caught up to his front wheel well then he took off a whole length to one and a half.. And im a decent not a bad or ****ty driver so its not that. I mean at this point im like WTF
. ONLY civic i EVER lost to was a h22 swaped hatch boosted... anyway so we pulll over in parking lot to talk good cause 1st time it was with windows down on road. i get a good look at the car NO BACKSEAT all the carpet plastic taken out.. I mean everything he didnt need was taken out to lighten weight. Then he mentions oh you know i had it on low boost too at 3-5psi i coulda went 8-12...
Then it all came clear... whats odd is from the outside it looked like a plane ass civic only white rims you wouldnt imagine he had all this work.. most people around here with alot of work put so many dumbass stickers or **** on the car like they in ****ing nascar.. Oh he also had stage 1 cams a cold air intake... header cat and exahust... the usuall bolt-ons but he had some engine internals done.. My question is and i know this goes back and forth like what came 1st the chicken or the egg. But a b18c 1 or 5 or h22a or a1 or a4 or a7 blah blah..
and how much more work would i need to take it???? OH yeah plus i had my tools(forgot them in there i was working on the car) in back of the h22, oh plus an extra person... in the h23 i had extra person and subs and carseat..
Now my damn fiancee is sayin ima turbo my civic ex after the swap and beat both your cars blah blah.. Im like you dont understand i paid 1,000 for h23 and 2500 for vtec.. both were steals to me in great condition thats why i have 2 lude plus i love ludes.. now i want a 5th gen too
. Well he has like 10k wit swap and work and i kept up in BOTH cars and i KEPT UP. He didnt leave me like the 350z did or the corvette i raced lmao.. And i tell her my h22 boosted alone will beat his.. Or even na just tuned will. I honestly think that the h22 can beat it with less weight and some bolt ons.. remember its pretty much all stock but intake.. What do you guys think????????

. And besides i read this somewhere i forget where "Preludes arent a car its a superior being!" But honestly thats the only time the h22 got beat besides one time by a 350z and that thing left me wayyy WAy WAY more and it had a FRACTION of the work.. LOL i was hoping that if i lightend the load and maybe 10-15hp from boltons id be able to keep even or squeak out the win. LOL cause he really didnt get that that far on me... but BAH before i bought the 94 h22 vtec i was so serious about boosting the h23a1.. with 8 or so psi for a start. But the h23a1 has 179k on it AND its automatic... i mean would it even be worth boosting???? Thats why i bought the 94 vtec with 75k. I mean i know if i built the h23a1's engine internals first or even rebuilt the motor then did internals then boost it would be good. BUT its still automatic and the manny swap is a decent amount of work... I honestly just am thinking of booosting the h22... although it would be nice to buy a 5th getn DD that and boost BOTH the h22 and 23 and comapre that would be fun.. BUT EXPENSIVE!!!
