i have a "N1" muffler off of ebay, with 2.25-2.5" piping from the cat-back, custom done at a muffler place. The muffler has just gotten annoying to me. Its deep and everything, I just want something quieter. Does someone make the stock look-a-like mufflers that are actually performance and offer gains similar to the N1?
I have the N1 from megan. Sounds good, but i only really hear it when i take the silencer out, which is once every full moon. You should get the silencer, its quiets it a lot. Mine sounds really good with the silencer, its quiet for normal drivin. I gets loud when i m over 4K, but its still less than what it would be if i had the silencer off at that same RPM, so i m satisfied with it, and i hear the intake a lot better too. its kinda of a slick too cause when i drive normally its dead quiet, and when someone tries me and i open it up, its a whole diff ballgame

I have been pondering this latley aswell, I have wondered how loud a N1 style w/ silencer is compared to stock, maybe I'll look into this Megan thing...
another idea I had (and a desperate one..) is some sort of stock muffler from another car, if I could find out which, if any, cars have a good sounding, non restrictive stock muffler maybe I could swap that in...feel free to laugh/flame away

my "N1" is actually the megan racing muffler from ebay. straight through and doesnt really muffle anything at all. great power increase though. very noticeable. what would a flowmaster sound like?
