Aftermarket LSD install, anyone know...

If I were to do a Phantom Grip LSD in my diff, is it something that can be done with average tools? Has anyone had one installed in their DIFF?? IF so is there a remarkable diff in traction off the line and around corners??

thanks

From what I can tell the Phantom grip is like a wedge that jams the gears.. It more or less does the same thing as welding your diff but allows a bit of "slipping"... but I could be wrong...

ya, thats what it is for the most part. It mimics a true LSD

I know you have to take the diff apart and place between the spider gears and then you take a clip off and the springs press against the gears and prevent slippage

From what I understand it also doesn't require any maintanance

Satan I know you are doing alot of tranny work, have you looked inside the diff at all? Did you notice any special tools that may need to be used to get in?
I would expect to need;
1. Torque Wrench
2. Basice metric tools
3. Rubber mallet
4. Lube of some sort and loctite

actually, you don't need anything but a mallet and a flathead screwdriver to get the Phantom Grip into the diff. I can't remember where, but I just saw a write up on it. They used the screwdriver to get out the center bar of the diff, then just slipped the phantom grip inside, and slid the bar back into place, then took off the clip on the phantom grip.
