AEM Pulleys...Installed correctly?

Well I've had my pulleys for a few months now and I really haven't asked anyone, but here goes: I haven't had any dimming lights or any power loss and haven't really felt any gains so I'm wondering if they are installed correctly. There is no give in the alternator belt, that sucker is tight as crap. Is it really supposed to be that tight? I cannot adjust the alternator tension at all because it so tight. Is that how it suppossed to be. I was just wondering. My car is an AT 96 Si OBDII , so could that be why I feel like I'm having no gains?

Thanks
Phil

Yes, The alternator belt on my aem kit is also tight. There is little room for adjustment. Ever since I had the pulleys on - I am having charging problems like lights dimming and the such.

Yeah that's my question, How come I don't experience dimming lights? Anyone else not get that? It just makes me wonder if the pulleys are doing what they are suppose to. BTW I have an Optima Yellow top battery, is it just that good of a battery that I don't experience any voltage loss?

I have a small system, 100 watts, 12" sub. The pulleys do not drain the sounds at all. I picked up my battery from a local car audio shop, but you can get them online from summitracing.com

I think the pullys are a waste of money. From what i've heard all they do is cause problems, there just for looks. I asked a couple experienced people and my mechanic and they all said that the stock ones hold up really good. My mechanic said he has never seen a pulley on a prelude go bad. just something to think about before putting that mod on.

How would a stock one go out? It a solid peice of metal that spins. Usally stock rims don't break either.
