of course they will help on any engine. i know my friends GS-R got about 8whp from Skunk2 cam gears once they were tuned, and that was on stock cams too. on the H22 u could expect around the same results if they are tuned.... it all depends on the setting u put them at though.

You will always get better gains if u have aftermarket cams (Skunk2, Crower, Type-S etc...), those are only for the h22 though. If you want cams for the H23 look at Gude, i know a few guys on this board have them. hope that helped a bit.

later,
tim

AEM cam gears=bad. I would not recommend AEM for cam gears because they have a reputation for breaking. I wouldn't worry about cam gears unless you get a good set of cams, anyway.

Oh yeah? I've never heard that. Do you have any proof to back that claim up??

I have also heard that AEM cam gears only have 3 bolts on them, which makes them slip or something like that while the Skunk2 cam gears have 6 bolts on them making them stronger.

As for people with Gude cams, I dont keep a running list of member's mods, so im not sure

later,
tim

Honestly no one will have a problem with AEM cam gears if you use them like you are supposed to. I love how on the Internet one person's experience becomes everyone's opinion.

I wouldn't expect much from cam gears on stock cams for the H22a.

ive been running the aem cam gears for over two years now, without a problem. my personal experience with them has been fine. i have yet to have them tuned so i can't say much about performance out of them.

As far as cams go for the H23 I've heard good thins about Web cams. I also agree that the Skunk2 cam gears might be better, after all 6 bolts should be stronger then 3.

I have spoken with several shops about AEM cam gears, and they said the same thing. Also, my friend had AEM gears, and they slipped and he cracked his cam.

I've heard that on stock cams they don't seem to make much of a difference, although you can kinda play with where you want the power in the powerband...

Well, the prices aren't much diff. between the skunk and AEM cam gears, so maybe I'll look into the "safer" ones.
