AEM CAI Filter problem PLEASE HELP

OK long story short I have a 2 piece AEM cold air intake well last night the filter fell of the intake and I ran it over.. (I have the plastic panneling that is usually on the underbody cut to let air get into the filter... whoops)Well the filter was crushed..
'
How do I go about getting a new one?? NOw the thing is, It is not JUST the filter that fell off.. the filter had some METAL collar thingy that was totally smushed when it got run over. I am NOT talking about the "rubber" orange/black "connecting" pieces.. this seemed to be part of the filter.. or at least some special metal adapter..thingy...

So How can I get a new one??

Isn't this the metal ring to tighten it? Obviously yours wasn't tight enough, but 1) it should come with a new K&N filter, and 2) you can by the collar thingy at the hardware store. It looks like a flat metal ring...and has a place to stick a slothead screwdriver in it to tighten it right? Next time when you tighten it, make sure you tighten it so that the rubber of the filter makes a little 'bulge'on both sides.

No I am NOT talking about the metal "bands" used to tighten the rubber collars onto the intake..

On the filter itself the was a cylindrical black metal collar coming out of the filter... this metal collar was inserted INTO THe rubber connecter thingy...

thanks though

Ok I did some hunting and found some parts on Carparts.com

HThey are called AEM Turbo Flow filters.. they have three sizes:
FIlters are said to fit piping of the following diameter;
2.5"
2.75"
3"

Went to the AEM website and found the above sized filters but withthe added option of the LONG neck and SHORT neck.. any idea which I need?
I have the two piece AEM CAI for a 94 prelude

Oh sorry I am a retard, my AEM CAI came with a K&N Rechargeable Air Filter out of the box, not the AEM one. The rubber collar and filter are all one piece.

All the same, why don't you just grab a K&N? They are supposedly the best...and would be easy to find anywhere.

Yeah I am trying to.. I just do not know what size I need to get.. I can't take the old one in cause its flat as a pancake.. I am trying to figure out what size inlet hole the AEM piping has.. so that I purchase the right size K&N filter.....

I believe ours is only 2.75", smaller than the 5th gen one which is 3". I will search around to double check though. The box is at home..and I'm at school so I can't check that way...

Yup it's 2.75" on a 4th gen.Figured it out by the part number for the bypass valve, which is 20-402s which is the 2.75" one. It's at the bottom here: http://www.importhorizon.com/aemintakeshonda.html

And K&N Filters are one piece so hopefully you won't have the problem again. Maybe you should consider attaching some mesh to the bottom of the car where you removed the plastic?

Just fix it before you drive it. If you still have your old stock intake, reinstall that back it. then when you get all the parts together you can install the thing back.
