im selling my 2001 chevy silverado with 66,000 miles on it for $6,500
im buying a 1994 prelude type s with 190,000 miles on the car with 90,000 miles on new f22a1 engine for $3,800
its got short ram intake, new spark plug wires, alternator, gaskets, seals, starter and other little things like that. its got about a foot long dent in the driver door from mailbox but no biggy
its primered and its got a rear body kit.
but it not only grinds into fifth gear but also into third. guy says it did it since he got it.

actually the bluebook is 3,800
and im getting 6,500 for my truck which was givin to me for free.
idk... i think its worth it.
i havent seen any others in the same or better shape..plus all the other preludes in my area are selling for like 2,500 that are in way worse condition than mine.. some guy is selling his TOTALED prelude for like almost 2k...
some guys are selling their preludes for around 5-6 grand for around the same shape as mine with just better paint job.
some dude is selling his 1994 prelude vtec with 90k miles for $7k!!
i think im gonna go ahead and buy it..
i drove it around and it rides really good.. interior is like new..basically the only thing wrong with it is paint and blinker.

First of all, it's not a 'Type S'. It's an 'S', the lowest trim level 4th gen. Secondly, you say the book is $3800. That's for 'fair' condition. Sorry, but that car is in piss-poor condition. It's on (at least) its second motor, the tranny needs work, the whole body is in in primer, lights are missing.
Frankly, that car is a pile of crap.
You asked for advice. Everyone here says stay away, yet you still are convinced that it's a 'good deal'.
Please come back after you've bought that two-tonned paperweight so that we can all say 'I told you so'.
hahahaha
idk mann...im stuck on it..
the guy said he didnt worry bout the looks because he put all his money into the performance.
but he got in an accident( not in the prelude) and hes owes 100,000 in medical bills.
so i thought id throw him 3,800
but i drove it and got on it and it deffinitly moves
but anyways
im still deciding but if i get f**ked ill for sure let yall know. (hopefully i dont)
but thanks for the advice i think i might have to find out the hard way.
All those aftermarket parts bring the value down, not up.
The car looks to be in 'poor' condition as mentioned above. It needs alot of work. And the transmission grinds in 2 gears!
It is the S trim level which, as mentioned, was the lowest (and slowest) trim level at the time.
It's not worth the money or time.
I'm really not saying anything new here, but there is some good advice in this thread and I just wanted to emphasize it.

i looked up preludes in that area and they are really over priced. 3950 for a 92si with 211k on the clock. thats ridiculous. shoulda sold mine in FL, would made a killing.
