Adjusting clutch pedal tension?

I noticed my cluth pedal will go down about 2+ inches before it even starts to disengage the clutch. You know what i mean? I do not rest my foot on it, although I also am unaware of how the previous owner drove the vehicle. I would like to adjust it, so that as soon as I depress the clutch it actually does it, with out those 2 inches of nothingness.. it makes driving a little wierd and I'm sick of it. I have come here to ask for help, because a few things I do not yet totally understand are transmissions, and the clutch pedal.

Any help / advice greatly appreciated. Can i adjust it so it works immediatly, with no dead step in the pedal? ~ Brett

i ve done this to my car a lonnnng time ago, cause my clutch was too hard, i like it tho, cause its softer, and lets me shift a lot faster...kinda like press less and shift faster... and dont have to press so hard...i never found a reason to change it back...theres a bolt under the dash by te fuse box area on the driver site. I havent been down there in year, but when i do, i ll snap a pic for ya to show exactly where its at.

The helms manual shows how to adjust it.

If you don't have one, I'll upload that section when I get home.

Of course, I don't have the same car as you, but it should be very similar.

Well, I have the CD manul which anybody can easily find online, and I have the Chiltons manual.. I found the section on clutch pedal adjustment, but it doesn't make much sense to me. I think it's because the instructions basically are giving me the idea, what after my adjustment, the pedals going to be lower to the floor, and I do not need it to be lower, well not much .. just enough to cure the 2 inches of nothingness which I must step into every time I go to depress the clutch. Will it fix that? is kinda what I need to know. Thanks for the quick replies fellas, much appreciated. ~ Brett
