Adding T3/T4 Turbo to my H23A SI

Im about to upgrade my car to a turbo. Do any of you guys have a prelude Si turbo? I want to find out how much hp i'll be getting from this setup at around 7 PSI of boost. Do you guys think I take out the BMW M3's and the RX-7's out with this turbo setup?
What do you think i'll be able to pull down on the qtr mile?
thanks

Look for answers in the Forced-induction forum...

If I were a mod I would move this...

I think XES can answer that question for you.

Jesus, since when do I get called to answer a question.

To run 7 psi, you will most likely be running stock internals, which is fine (to start off your turbo setup). On stock internals, with a system like Hondata (or even a piggyback setup like AFC and ITC from Apexi) you will have no problems running 10psi as a daily driver.

Why does everybody want to run such low boost values, when you can run a little higher at a similar reliability? It must be cause they do it themselves at home and can't tune worth a damn (or don't have a good lambda meter, etc.).

10 psi on a stock block with a little head work. Port match the intake and exhaust sides with each respective manifold. Polish the exhaust side, not the intake side (because you want a little turbulence there. Some deburring etc. can be done). Any combustion chamber work will likely be done down the line when you upgrade your internals. This will ensure adequate air flow from your motor.

Work can be done with the intake manifold itself (but you'll have to figure that out yourself).

An adequate size intercooler with proper i/c pipe design is crutial. I stayed away from the "kits" on the market because of their poor piping design. The rev-hard kits appears to have the best manifold for the H23A (until you have one custom made). Half of the piping from that kit is good (the 1/2 after the i/c). The 1st half is a butcher job (ie. the pipe goes left towards the passenger side, then, beside the other intercooler pipe, and then along the top of the intercooler). The monkeys working at rev-hard must have had a brain cramp when they designed that one. The intercooler pipe from the turbo itself, must go towards the driver's side (not above the turbo as seen in the f-max kit). This will ensure the shortest total length of intercooler, while minimizing bends (you will most likely have to custom build this out of 2 mandrel bend U-pipe sections).

There are many blower options, which I don't want to get into. As for fuel etc. I went big originally, but I believe a setup like this would function properly with a set of H22A injectors.

As for beating other cars, I don't know, hunt around on what other prelude's have done (i.e. you can make the non-vtec head flow as much air as the vtec head) at ~10psi. I'm sure you'll have a chance, or give them a scare.

Anyways, I don't feel like writing anymore, any I probably forgot some stuff.
