accord trunk opener in 4th gen

I just got the accord trunk opener that hooks up to your alarm system... I noticed a lot of people have installed it in their 5th gens but from looking at the install pictures I'm not sure if it would work in my 92. has anyone installed this part or know if it'll work?

i have a trunk popper hooked up to my alarm. it's not the accord one, just some generic one. works really good. i too wondered about the accord one but i've never found anyone using it. i think my setup would probibly work just as good.

the 5th gen accord latch will not work in the 4th gen prelude. The 4th gen prelude latch fits inside the trunk lid, and the 5th gen accord latch bolts to the inner part of the lid.

Can you elaborate on your setup?

well the generic popper i have is very simple. it is basically a little round device which pulls the latch of your trunk when it is activated via a wire cord hooked up to the release latch in your trunk. i think it might have one or two wires you hook up to your alarm. i'm not sure if it's compatable with every alarm system, but i to mine hooked up to my compustar 2000as alarm. it took about 20 minutes to mount it and wire it up. i can't remember the price, but i don't think it was as much as the accord popper.

mabye i'll have time this weekend to get some picks of the popper. i can't promise it because my car is at my parents house which is an hour away. i'll do my best. hope this answers some questions.
