AC Help

Hey all,

I have done some searching, but havent found the exact answers i am looking for and hoping you guys can help. My AC has been intermittent all summer. It will work great for about 5-10 minutes, then blows warm air. If i turn it off for 10-15 minutes it will blow cold air again for 5-10 and so on.

Could it just be low in coolent? Since is it very cold when it works I don't know if this could be the problem.

I also read that the 4th gens have climate control problems that could cause this, but when it blows warm air the AC light is still on. So does that rule out a climate control problem?

Should i just take it in and spend the $75 to have it charged and hope that fixes it?

Any advice is appreiated. Nick

hmm... those intervals sound a lot like the intervals at which the clutch in the compressor engages and disengages, I wonder if you're experiencing loss in the system somewhere or if maybe your compressor is on the blink. if you can, measure how cold the air is when the a/c seems to be working, and you might as well also measure the hot air that follows.

When it is cold, it is as cold as it has ever been. When it is not working, it is the same temperature as the air that blows when I have the AC off the climate control all the way on cool.
