ABS Problems

I have a 96 SR-V. When I use the brakes during daily driving, the ABS light appears in the dash at random times, and is followed by a rapid ticking which is coming from the front right side of my car. While braking, the pedal has pressure, then the pedal sinks, the ABS is felt in the pedal, and then when pressing further, the brakes finally return to normal. I believe this is a problem with my master cylinder? If so, how much is involved in the replacement?!

the master cylinder is very easy to replace, but it takes a little bit of time because you have to drain the system, then add more fluid, then bleed and rebleed.

before you do anything though, double check that you don't have any air bubbles in your lines. you might also want to get the ABS computer checked out becuase the light keeps coming on randomly.

Did you check the fluid level? Maybe the fluid is low?

I've checked all my lines, fluid level is good to go, and the ABS light is only on due to the problem i'm having, seeing as how it first came on when the problem first emerged. So is anyone with me on thinking its my master cylinder?!

i doubt its your master cylinder... when mine went out the brake pedal wasn't hold much pressure, but the ABS light never came on.

sounds like the MC is only part of the problem. seems like the bigger problem is why the ABS light is coming on in the first place.
