abs problem

2.0i 16v prelude non vtec.getting ready for the h22jdm engine swap but b4 i go any further need the brakes sorted.

abs light doesnt light up on initial start up(couldbdshboard light),also abs never kicks in in any conditions ever :O just skids,also get a rumble threw the steering when normal driving on motorway and a even heavier rumble when brakes are applied .
i upgraded the discs and pads to black diamond promblem has never gone away .brakes are very poor .
i have bee ntold to clee nthe abs sensors ??
any sugestions ????

Your ABS works independent of your brakes.

If you are still braking horribly, I would suggest a full inspection of your brake system. Changing pads/rotors is good but you also need to bleed them and make sure your master and slave cylinders are good.

ive booked it into honda for a inspection on the brakes . does it sound a big job or costly???

^depends.

Most brake parts are pretty cheap (brake master cylinder/ slave cylinder)

If its the brake booster it could be expensive. But from my knowledge, it seems that its usually the first two that are the problem.

Its really cheap if you could fix it yourself. Also I never used my abs.
