ABS 4WS Problems

I have a 94 SI the problem is this, when I start my Lude it does a system check and all the necessary dashboard lights come on and then go off. The only one that does not come on is the ABS(not the bulb). The 4WS light comes on and does the check then goes off as usual. Whats unusual is that it comes back no about 5-8 minutes after when I am driving and stays on.
Not sure what the problem could be. I thing the two systems are connected in some way, so if one does'nt work the other will not either.
What do you guys think could be the problem?

Bet you its a wheel speed sensor, its really the only common link between the 2 systems.

That's what I'm thinking, but if it's a sensor she should hear the ABS trying to work for a few seconds making that clicking noise, and then the light comes on..we'll have to wait and see

If the ABS fuse is blown wouldn't the ABS light still work? I thought that the only thing that could turn that light off is to disconnect the ABS computer...

ABS 4WS Problems cont.

I took my Prelude to the Honda service dealer and the told me that the problem is my ABS control unit (ECU). Apparently it is not working and it needs to be replaced.
Has anybody ever had this problem of having to replace the ECU?

I have heard of the ABS comp failing but only in older models 92ish. The ABS ecu is VERY expensive from the dealer, If you intend on replacing it, it's a DIY job just buy a used one from the junk yard
