about to install camber kit

Ok I have searched all the forums covering the upper ball joint. I know from people that have installed the SPC ball joint camber kit have removed the balljoint to install the kit. The ball joint has to be pressed out. My question is how did you go about pressing the ball joint out of the upper control arm (tools, tips). Please help, I will be installing the ingalls kit, which it basically the same as SPC. Thanks

Check around with some auto parts stores that rent tools and find one that has a ball joint press. Or just take them to a machine shop and ask them to do it, should take like 10 minutes for them to do it.

Is that the way you did it? also I just got some used at a junk yark and noticed something. Is there pins holding it on at the base of the balljoint and control arm?

It's been a while since I did mine, their *might* be a c-clip on it but not sure. I have access to a hydraulic press so I used it. If I were you I would call a machine shop and ask how much to press a couple ball joints out of your control arms I'm guessing it wouldn't be much and it would take less time than doing it yourself. Unless you already have a press.

I got the ball joints off and put the kit on he control arm. I was just wondering about one thing. At the top of the control arm where there is the locking nut and washer there is still a gap almost as thick as the washer under the locking nut locked tight. Is this normal, im sure the nut has to be fixing to hold the adjustment on the kit? Since there is a locking nut and it is only able to go down so far should I just add a washer under the nut to make up the gap? The top nut has to be torqued to 100 lbs, the locking nut isn't going to go down any further than where it is notched right. Please help
