i dont think anyone here would know bc the h23 redline is 6400 and i dont think anyone would be pushing it much further than 7000-7200...only people that could help you is if anyone has swapped a h22 with the h23 tranny but even if i dont think anyone would rev that far, and if they did it was probally an accident and didnt pay much attention to their speeds

well, you can do the math if you know the gear ratios. it's not like you have to do the swap and test out each gear to figure this out...

i have an h22 with an h23 tranny.
Im not quite sure what 1st gear is at, cuz i dont have time to watch the speedo. but..
2nd gear is at about 68
3rd gear is at about 90
4th gear is at about 120
and 5th gear i have had the speedo pegged. (150 possibly)

I would estimate 1st gear at about 35-40 maybe.

hope that helps

www.autocrossing.com has a nice gearing calculator, you can just put the gear ratios and it'll give you the top speed in each gear and the RPM drops from shifting.

Thanks luderacr14,
Is it just me or does that look extreamly close to what the vtec tranny does? I know the vtec tranny has shorter gears, but by the looks of it, the difference is minimal. Or is it?

it seems to be pretty minimal. When i race my buddy with an h22 tranny we shift at pretty much the same time. The only problem with the h23 tranny is if you dont catch the shift between 1st and 2nd just perfect (and bring 1st up to around 8) then you will drop out of vtec for just a second. Its not that bad, but it kinda sucks.
Other than that, its all good.

well, all i know is that every 1000 rpm's on my car is 20 mph.....so 8k would be 160mph, on the speedo.....I think I figured it out one time and the H22 on the H23 tranny would top out at about 152 or 156

you only need to know the rpm at one speed to figure out what it is at 7800 or 8000.
